Common Inquiries & Range Rules
To ensure a safe, professional, and enjoyable environment for everyone, all members and guests must follow the club’s safety and operational guidelines. Trap shooting involves firearms and moving targets, so strict adherence to safety procedures is essential at all times.
General Firearm Safety
Ground Swipers is a dedicated trap shooting club, and shooters are responsible for safely transporting and handling their own firearms while on club property.
All shotguns must always be treated as if they are loaded while on the grounds.
When moving to or from the trap fields:
The action must be open at all times
The muzzle must always be pointed in a safe direction
Failure to follow safe firearm handling practices may result in removal from the firing line.
Eye and Ear Protection
Eye and ear protection are mandatory.
Protective equipment is not optional for anyone on the firing line or near active shooting areas.
Safety rules are posted:
At each trap field
In several locations inside the clubhouse
All shooters are expected to read, understand, and follow these rules at all times.
Guests & Waivers
Guests are welcome at Ground Swipers but must follow the club’s check-in procedures.
Guests must accompany a member to the clubhouse
Anyone planning to shoot must complete a waiver and guest check-in form
No individual may shoot without completing the waiver

The range operator will address the situation before shooting resumes.
Alcohol Policy
Alcohol and firearms do not mix.
No alcohol consumption is permitted before or during shooting
Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the trap range area
Any shooter who appears impaired will not be permitted to shoot and may be expelled from the club
Range Operator Authority
The range operator’s decision is final on all matters involving safety and rule enforcement.
For the safety of all shooters, the range operator may:
Remove any individual from the firing line
Remove individuals from the property for unsafe behavior
Violations may result in removal without refund.
Mandatory Safety Course
Shooters who are not registered members of the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) must complete the club’s safety training.

Covers range procedures, trap shooting safety, and club rules
This course ensures that all shooters understand how to safely participate in trap shooting at Ground Swipers.
Weekly Social Shoots & Events
We pride ourselves on the community we’ve built at Ground Swipers. Beyond standard range hours, we host two signature weekly events that offer a unique dimension to the sport:
Thursday Night Lights & Dinner: Starting at dusk, we host a weekly dinner followed by shooting under our professional LED stadium-style lighting. It is a remarkable experience and a favorite among our members.
Sunday Mid-Day Shoot: Every Sunday from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM, we gather for a morning session on the line. The club provides a community lunch during the shoot; while there is no set cost, we appreciate any contributions to our "Lunch Fund" to help us keep this tradition going.
New Shooters Welcome
